NurseTRUST is seeking candidates for the 2025-2026 Board of Directors - qualified and diverse leaders, with a commitment to our mission - to inspire and enable nurse leaders to grow, collaborate, and transform health, health equity and health care. 

This is your organization! Join the Board of Directors to help shape its future and the futures of nursing, health, and healthcare. Your voice matters, and your leadership can make a significant difference!

Open Positions:
President-Elect: 

  • Two-year term.
  • To qualify, the candidate must have served at least one year on the Board.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the mission and vision of the organization and provide general operational support for the organization.
  • Assume the duties of the President in the case of the President’s absence or inability to serve, and when so acting shall have all the powers of, and be subject to all the restrictions on, the president.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the President.
  • Assume the Presidency at the end of the President’s term.
  • Provide leadership for the organization to assure the mission and vision are supported and organization goals are achieved.
  • Approve the time and place for the holding of Annual Business Meetings.
  • Exercise fiduciary responsibilities including adopting a budget, managing all funds acquired by the Organization, and distributing and dispersing such funds.
  • Recommend changes to the Bylaws, as needed.
  • Participate in monthly Board meetings and two in-person meetings (one held in conjunction with the Summit).
  • Makes an annual financial contribution of $1,000.
  • Recruits new members, sponsors, and fellows.
Secretary: 
  • Two-year term.
  • To qualify, the candidate must have served at least one year on the Board.
  • Keep a record of the organization’s legal documents, minutes from all meetings of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Organization, and distribute such minutes within a month of said meetings.
  • Work with Organization staff to maintain membership rosters and correspondence.
  • Ensure notification of the Annual Business Meeting.
  • Manages the election process as the Chair of the Governance Committee and assures all election procedures are implemented.
  • Chair the Governance Committee.
  • Provide leadership for the organization to assure the mission and vision are supported and organization goals are achieved.
  • Approve the time and place for the holding of Annual Business Meetings.
  • Exercise fiduciary responsibilities including adopting a budget, approving major expenses. organizational policy and other items brought forward by the Executive Committee and Committee Chairs
  • Recommend changes to the Bylaws, as needed.
  • Participate in monthly Board meetings, committee meetings and two in-person meetings (one held in conjunction with the Summit).
  • Makes an annual financial contribution of $1,000.
  • Recruits new members, sponsors, and fellows.

Director-at-Large (multiple positions):

  • Two-year term.
  • Serve as representative and advocate for NurseTRUST and its membership.
  • Provides leadership for the organization to assure the mission and vision are supported and organization goals are achieved.
  • Approve the time and place for the Annual Business Meetings.
  • Exercise fiduciary responsibilities including adopting a budget, approving major expenses. organizational policy and other items brought forward by the Executive Committee and Committee Chairs.
  • Recommend changes to the Bylaws, as needed.
  • Participate in monthly Board meetings and two in-person meetings one held in conjunction with the Summit).
  • Makes a annual financial contribution of $1,000.
  • Recruits new members, sponsors, and fellows.
  • Participates /chairs committees, serves as fellow mentor.
