Matthew D. McHugh, PhD, JD, MPH, RN, CRNP, FAAN, RWFJ Nurse Faculty Scholar Alum, co-authored the article, "Hospital nurse staffing variation and Covid-19 deaths: A cross-sectional study," published in International Journal of Nursing Studies.
Rosa M. Gonzalez-Guarda, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN, RWJF Nurse Faculty Scholar Alum, is the PI and Ryan Shaw, PhD, RN, FAAN is Co-PI, of a $1.4M T32 grant awarded to Duke University by the National Institutes of Health for the study, "Nurse LEADS: Training in Nurse-LEd models of care ADdressing the Social Determinants of Health."
The CVS Health Foundation is requesting grant proposals from local multi-sector partnerships seeking to improve older adult health. CVS Health Foundation will award five multi-year, $1 million grants through its Focus on Healthy Aging (FOHA) program. FOHA will support mature collective impact efforts that strengthen systems-of-care for older adults with brain, heart, and mental health conditions. NurseTRUST mourns the loss of Dr. Joy Reed, EdD, BSN, RN, FAAN, RWJF - Executive Nurse Fellow Alum. Dr. Reed championed the advancement of public health nursing in North Carolina and across the nation for more than 40 years. Throughout her career, Joy received numerous awards and honors for her achievements in public health. Of note, she was the only public health nurse in the inaugural cohort of recipients of the Executive Nurse Fellows program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (1998). A life well lived and an inspiration to public health nurses in North Carolina and across the nation, Joy will be greatly missed.
